Heartfulness meditation has been shown to positively influence physical and mental health.

A 12-week randomised study on Heartfulness meditation versus a control group found that Heartfulness meditation:
Reduced:

  • Anxiety
  • Perceived stress
  • Cortisol levels
    Increased:
  • Telomere length
  • Wellbeing

Research has shown that Yoga and meditation have reduced exhaustion, stress, weariness, and burnout, along with having increased telomerase activity and telomere length. Additionally, research has shown a positive link between wellbeing and telomere length, indicating improved cellular health.

This study and other research on meditation is promising. More research is suggested to determine ways in which lifestyle medicine can improve mental health and wellbeing.
