Dr Brad McEwen PhD is a distinguished expert in preventive and personalised health, with a particular focus on optimising longevity and healthspan, and enhancing cardiometabolic, mental, and cognitive health and wellbeing. Over a career spanning more than 27 years, he has established himself as a highly respected naturopath, nutritionist, herbalist, educator, researcher, and mentor.

Dr Brad holds a PhD from the University of Sydney, as well as a Master of Health Science (Human Nutrition) and a Master of Public Health from Deakin University. He is also formally qualified in naturopathy, nutrition, herbal medicine, and sports medicine. This multidisciplinary background underpins his integrated approach to advancing individual and population health.
Throughout his career, Dr Brad has contributed extensively to higher education and professional development in health and complementary medicine. He has delivered seminars, webinars, and conference presentations both nationally and internationally, including in France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Japan, and New Zealand. He has served on an academic board, various academic and research committees, and course advisory committees, and continues to act as a peer reviewer for international scientific journals.
Dr Brad’s research explores the influence of diet, nutrition, and lifestyle medicine on longevity, healthspan, and a wide range of conditions, including cardiovascular disease, cardiometabolic syndrome, depression, anxiety, cognitive health, stress, polycystic ovary syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other chronic diseases. His work is published regularly in peer-reviewed journals and reflects a strong commitment to evidence-based practice.
Beyond his research and academic contributions, Dr Brad is engaged in public health advocacy. He is committed to expanding access to health services, promoting chronic disease prevention, improving the availability of nutritious food and health education within schools, and championing health equity. He played a pivotal role in developing a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) degree and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS), the nation’s largest professional association for natural medicine practitioners.
Currently, Dr Brad serves as the Head of Products and Innovation at a leading manufacturing company. His role involves overseeing the development of cutting-edge health products and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Dr Brad’s contributions have been recognised with numerous national and international awards (awards), including the Complementary Medicines Australia Industry Contributor of the Year Award (which honours and recognises the consistent, dedicated contribution of an individual or team to the advancement and promotion of the complementary medicine industry), the prestigious Eberhard F. Brad played a major role in the preparation of the Bachelor of Health Science Honours degree for submission to TEQSA for Endeavour College of Natural Health. Brad is currently on the Board of Directors of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS), Australia’s largest national professional association of natural medicine practitioners.
