Introducing my latest Webinar on “The Importance of Nutrition in Optimising Cardiometabolic Health”.
Optimum cardiometabolic health is central for overall health and wellbeing. Optimum nutrition plays an essential role in improving cardiometabolic health. Poor nutrition is one of the most critical risk factors for chronic disease. Cardiometabolic syndrome represents a cluster of interrelated metabolic conditions that are risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as vascular calcification, arterial stiffness, insulin resistance, altered platelet function and coagulation, increased blood pressure, altered glucose metabolism, and dyslipidaemia.
Cardiometabolic syndrome is a proinflammatory state driven by multiple factors, including chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and immune cell activation. Research shows that cardiometabolic syndrome is linked with an increased risk of coronary heart disease, ischaemic stroke, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular mortality, and total mortality. Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide.
Identifying and treating the underlying causes, background activity, and triggers are crucial in managing cardiometabolic syndrome. Reducing the impact of cardiometabolic syndrome is of significant public health importance. Active folate (5-MTHF), Menaquinone-7 (Vitamin K2), Ubiquinol, Omega-3, among other nutrients (even chocolate) are important for improving cardiometabolic health.
