Magnesium powder

Magnesium is a multipurpose mineral that is involved in over 300 enzyme reactions. It plays an important physiological role, particularly in the brain, heart, and skeletal muscles.

Magnesium is involved in the synthesis of ATP, DNA, and RNA, mitochondrial health, neurotransmission, and nitric oxide metabolism. It is involved in the maintenance of normal muscle and nerve function, neurotransmitters, bone strength, heart rhythm, and the immune system.

I like to prescribe magnesium in various forms, particularly as a powder. As a powder, I can prescribe it on its own (in water) or combine with other nutritional powders, greens powders, reds powders, collagen powders, among others, to suit the person’s needs. For some people, I might combine magnesium with:

  • B Vitamins for energy, stress, nervous system, etc (taken in the morning)
  • Rhodiola and Ginseng for energy (taken in the morning or throughout the day)
  • Rhodiola for energy and stress (taken in the morning and/or throughout the day)
  • Nutrients for immune system health (taken throughout the day)
  • Glutamine, Glycine, and Taurine for nervous system support
  • Vitamin C and Zinc for skin health (potentially with Hyaluronic acid)
  • Collagen for skin and connective tissue health
  • Biotin for health, skin, and nail health
  • Passionflower and other herbs for sleep (for use at night)

Magnesium powder can be mixed in water or blended into smoothies.
