Nutrition in New York

I have just arrived back from New York. I travelled to New York for a holiday. Well, it was a busy holiday. Jam packed. While there I caught up with friends, walked daily in Central Park, went to the The Met with friends and viewed some of my favourite paintings (Monet, etc), MOMA to see one of my most favourite Van Gogh paintings, attended a full day Conference “From tumour suppressors to oncogenic dynamics”, and attended a nutrition meeting at New York University (NYU), where we had several discussions on nutrition, public health, nutrition in schools… I had an Italian dinner with friends in Little Italy (after the Italian parade), went to the Brooklyn markets, went to the top of the Statue of Liberty, went to Governor’s Island, and went to a New York Jets NFL game. I always go to the Empire State Building and go to the top and view NYC. This time was extra special as I was up there on the morning of September 11. There was an eerie silence and then when the anniversary of the first tower being hit, sirens went off in recognition of the event, then silence. A couple of days later I later paid my respects at Ground Zero.

I have added some photos below. I have included a photo from the conference with NYC in the background and a photo from the nutrition meeting.

I will be doing a Podcast of the trip in the coming week or so.
